DENNIS YOUNG, CEO/PRESIDENT, BOARD OF DIRECTOR, FOUNDER. Young is a veteran media and telecommunications expert with nearly twenty years of hands-on experience in building some of the world’s leading media and telecommunications systems. Young was a part of the original core team at DIRECTV and spearheaded its entry into Asia and the development of DIRECTV Japan. Young was also involved with many of the communications satellites over Asia during his time at Hughes Satellite Company. Among the satellites Young was involved with are: Asiasat, PanAmSat, Intelsat, Measat, Palapa, Optus and APStar. Young also has had a successful entrepreneur history with the founding of a media rights management company and an international music television channel. Well versed in technology, production, distribution, channel development, rights management, marketing and finance, Young is in the unique position to see opportunities and trends as they appear. Young holds both an MBA and a Masters degree in engineering.
RACHAEL SHAPIRO, SR. VP, MARKETING. Rachael has a broad range of experience in entertainment production and marketing, most recently as a producer of branding campaigns and interstitial programming for cable TV. In addition, Rachael headed up the marketing department and filmmaker relations division of Reelplay.com, an on-line marketplace for independent film and TV product. As VP of Marketing, she was instrumental in the creation, execution and management of Reelplay’s B2B launch strategy and supervised the creation and maintenance of a distinct on-line Independent Filmmakers Marketplace for films in various stages of development and production. Prior to her work as a producer and marketing consultant, Rachael was the Director of the Independent Feature Film Market (IFFM) produced by the Independent Feature Project (IFP), the nation's premier independent film community.
MICHAEL PROBSTEL, CHAIRMAN. Michael has been involved in the start-up process of media and technology ventures both in the US and Germany for the last 15 years. He currently has invested in and consults for eight Software and New-Media startups on both continents, serving on the Board of AMBER Telecom Inc., Glocal Media Networks Inc. and Voyages Television in the US and Hong Kong. In addition, Michael manages his families real estate portfolio with holdings in the US and Germany. Michael received his Bachelor in Business Economics from the University of California at Santa Barbara and his Masters in Business Administration from the University of Regensburg, Germany.
THEODORE “TED” MCFARLAND, BOARD OF DIRECTOR. An experienced executive with worldwide cable, satellite and broadband media experience with an emphasis in Asia Pacific markets. Ted was the first President of Turner Broadcasting Asia Pacific with revenue responsibilities for serving 54 countries and territories with CNN International and TNT / Cartoon Network distribution and services. Later Ted served as President of Hughes Asia Pacific, with oversight for Hughes' DirecTV Japan activities and Senior Vice President of PanAmSat in Indian Ocean and Pacific Ocean regions. Ted helped form the Cable and Satellite Broadcast Association of Asia (CASBAA) and has served as its President and currently on its Council of Governors. Ted has public company and NGO board level experience. In Asia, Ted has lived and worked in Singapore, Hong Kong, Malaysia, India and Japan, and has extensive personal networks worldwide in Television, Film and Technology applications. He was deemed one of " Asia media's most networked executives" by Television Asia magazine. Ted has a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from San Diego State University and undertaken Post Graduate studies in International Business Diplomacy at Georgetown University. Additional Post Graduate studies at the Air Force Defense Institute of Security Assistance Management and The American University in cross cultural management and corporate governance.
